As office manager of a beach club in Santa Monica, Mary Lee loved coordinating parties, events, and fundraisers and began Poetry on the Sand, a monthly reading series. In 1990, when the beach club closed, she moved to the Sierra foothills where she worked in inside sales and customer service, participated in community theater, and was an active board member of Vision Academy of the Arts, California Poets in the Schools, and Poets in the Pines. In 2010 she moved to Kerrville and immediately found her spiritual home at Unity. She has written five books, taught creative writing to children and adults, and is currently president of Friends of the Library. Since 2011 she has been a facilitator of Hill Country Poets which meets on the second Sunday of each month in our church library.
